AMC installs third tyre killer bump in Shastrinagar

Ahmedabad: The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has installed another tyre-killer speedbreaker in the city on an experimental basis. The latest bump has been installed near Torrent Power Station in the Shastri Nagar area here.

This is the third tyre killer bump that has been installed by the city’s civic body. Earlier, the first installation was at the service road of Chanakyapuri Bridge, and the second one was at the service lane of Shyamal Flyover. While the bump is working as a deterrent and a lot of vehicle riders refrain from passing over it, some offenders still make the adventure of passing above it.

The installations of tyre killer bumps are so far on an experimental basis to check whether this measure works well or not in curbing wrong-side driving. The suggestion for the installation of tyre killer bumps was given orally by the High Court judge to the AMC during the hearing of a case pertaining to traffic problems in Ahmedabad. DeshGujarat
