Gujarat Assembly session from Sept 13; Nine bills likely to be tabled

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has outlined its agenda for the upcoming Assembly session starting on September 13. Among the key bills to be presented are the Common University Act, which aims to introduce stricter regulations for private universities, and a proposal for a 27% reservation for OBCs in civic bodies, along with a GST amendment designed to boost tax collection.

In addition to these pivotal bills, there are several others on the agenda, including bills related to the establishment of a children’s university, regulations for the Gujarat electricity sector, legislation concerning the Pavagadh-Champaner heritage site, and reforms for the Agriculture University.

This session of the assembly will also be a digital session. To facilitate a paperless session, the MLAs have been provided with tablets, and special training sessions have been initiated to prepare them for the upcoming session. DeshGujarat
