Gujarat Congress General Secretary joins BJP

Surat: The State General Secretary of the Gujarat Congress, Haresh Vasava, today joined the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after resigning from the Congress.

Following his resignation from the Congress, Haresh Vasava met with the Gujarat BJP chief, CR Patil, in Surat. After the meeting, CR Patil welcomed Vasava into the BJP by offering him a saffron scarf. Along with Haresh Vasava, his supporters have also joined the BJP.

It’s worth noting that in last year’s assembly elections, Congress had nominated Haresh Vasava as its candidate from the Nandod constituency. The Bharatiya Janata Party had fielded Dr. Darshanaben Deshmukh from the same seat, and Dr. Darshanaben Deshmukh emerged victorious by a margin of more than 28,000 votes, while Haresh Vasava of the Congress stood runner-up.
