VMC approves construction of 12-Metre TP Road by Tata for aircraft plant connectivity
September 16, 2023
Vadodara: An aircraft manufacturing plant is going to come up near Vadodara. The standing committee of Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) in its meeting this week has approved the construction of a 12-metre TP (town planning) road connecting the aircraft plant site to the existing TP road of Rajivnagar in Vadodara.
Tata Advance System Ltd. (TASL) laid the foundation stone of an aircraft manufacturing plant for C-295 aircraft last year. At present, the transportation of materials and machinery is carried out for the plant through Vadodara airport. The proposed TP road will provide new access to the plant side which will be used for the purpose of a transportation route instead of the Vadodara airport.
TATA had a meeting with the Vadodara municipal commissioner over the construction of this road through self-funding. The Engineer of the East zone visited the site where soil leveling will be required in 250 m length and 3 to 4 m depth. Rs. 4 crore estimate has been made for creating a culvert and road parallel to the airport wall on the Rajivnagar channel from the highway.
The company has been permitted to carry out the works on its own through a contractor. The company will pay for supervision, inspection, and third-party inspection through VMC’s project management consultant.
