Anand: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat on Monday nabbed two police constables posted at Anand Town Police Station here, in connection with a bribery case involving an amount of ₹2,00,00.
According to the case details, the name of complainant’s friend came up in a case related to the Prohibition Act that was registered at the Anand Town police station. In this matter, the accused individuals, Dharmendra Kumar Gadhvi and Rafiqbhai Ganibhai Vohra, both serving as constables at the police station, visited the complainant’s village on October 1st. The accused cops demanded a bribe of Rs. 2,00,000 to replace someone else as the accused in the Prohibition Act case, instead of the original accused. This conversation was recorded by the complainant.
Since the complainant was unwilling to pay the bribe, he created a CD recording of the conversation and presented it to the ACB. Later, in a trap set up, both accused individuals, including Dharmendra Kumar Gadhvi, were caught accepting the bribe of Rs. 2,00,00 from the complainant. Both accused have been detained, and further actions are currently underway. DeshGujarat
