Rajkot BJP asks its Corporator to resign
March 11, 2024
Rajkot: The City BJP president today removed RMC Corporator Devuben Jadav of Ward No. 6 from the post of chairman of the Law and Steering Committee and demanded her resignation. The decision comes after the allegation that the husband of a female corporator has allotted housing scheme quarters to individuals and demanded money for the job.
Rajkot City BJP President Mukesh Doshi said that the Gokulnagar Housing Scheme under the Rajkot Municipal Corporation was launched during the tenure of the then Chief Minister Anandiben Patel, in which the remaining 193 houses were drawn. There have been allegations of malpractices in the draw process for the last 3 days. In the meantime, the Rajkot Municipal Commissioner has taken action and handed over the investigation. The truth about this allegation can come out after the report of the inquiry committee.
He further mentioned that the BJP government is working at the center and the state. Rajkot Municipality has been ruled by BJP for 45 years, and no wrongdoing has been done so far. If anyone does commit wrongdoing, they will be prosecuted. Today, following the allegation, Rajkot Ward No. 6 Corporator Devu Jadav, who is the Chairman of the Law and Steering Committee, has been suspended, and her resignation has been sought by the party. Not only this, there is an allegation against two other corporators. Both corporators have been instructed not to attend any program of the corporation or the party until the report of the inquiry committee is received.
It may be mentioned that the report prepared by the inquiry committee will be handed over to the Municipal Commissioner by the officials of Rajkot Municipal Corporation today or tomorrow. DesgGujarat
