Youth climbs atop train engine at Surat railway station; 45-min standoff delays 7 trains

Surat: A huge ruckus occurred at Surat Railway Station this morning after a youth climbed onto the top of a train engine. Following the incident, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) immediately arrived at the spot. However, it took efforts of 45 minutes to bring the youth down. A preliminary investigation has revealed that the young man is mentally ill. Meanwhile, seven trains were delayed due to the incident.

The Bandra Express train was stationed at platform number 4 when the young man climbed onto the engine. Sitting atop the engine, he folded his hands and made gestures while people attempted to persuade him to come down. However, he refused to do so. Upon receiving information, RPF personnel rushed to the scene. Despite their efforts, the young man remained on the engine and did not comply. He even attempted to grab the electric wire. Fortunately, as the power supply had been cut off, he was unharmed. After 45 minutes of efforts, the RPF and others finally managed to bring him down.

Due to the cut in power supply, around seven trains were disrupted. Trains including the Jaipur Superfast, MEMU, Double Decker, Tejas Express, Humsafar Express, Sayaji Nagari Express, and Deluxe Express were delayed. DeshGujarat
