Delay in Delhi-Surat IndiGo flight leaves passengers frustrated at both airports
February 07, 2025
Surat: A delay in IndiGo’s Delhi-Surat flight led to commotion at Delhi Airport, as passengers, angered by the delay, chanted slogans and confronted the airline staff.
IndiGo flight 6E 2383, which departs from Delhi Airport at 7:00 PM and lands at Surat Airport at 8:55 PM, was initially delayed by an hour, with a revised take-off time of 8:10 PM. However, when passengers arrived at the airport, they were informed that the captain (pilot) was unavailable, leading to a further delay.
Frustrated passengers expressed their anger, saying, “We are exhausted here, but they don’t care. They are charging ₹25,000–30,000 in fares, yet they are not maintaining flight schedules. If a passenger is late for boarding, they impose extra charges, but when the airline delays a flight, there is no accountability.”
The flight finally took off at 9:52 PM and arrived at Surat Airport at 11:39 PM. The delay also caused inconvenience to passengers at Surat Airport. Since this flight landed late in Surat, the return flight from Surat to Delhi was also delayed. Instead of its regular departure at 9:25 PM on Thursday, it took off at 12:21 AM today and reached Delhi at 2:21 AM. DeshGujarat
