Gandhinagar: India’s semiconductor ambitions received a major boost as Tata Electronics and ASML signed a partnership to support chip manufacturing in India during the visit of Narendra Modi to the Netherlands.
Under the agreement, ASML will provide advanced lithography tools and technology for Tata Electronics’ upcoming 300 mm semiconductor fabrication plant at Dholera, Gujarat. The ₹91,000-crore project is India’s first commercial semiconductor wafer fabrication plant.
ASML, which dominates the critical lithography equipment segment used in advanced chip manufacturing, will help establish and scale operations at the facility. The collaboration will also focus on developing local talent, strengthening supply chains, and building long-term research and development capabilities.
