Centre OKays ₹698.78 crore for upgradation of NH-927C stretch in Gujarat

Ahmedabad: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has announced the approval of ₹698.78 crore for the upgradation of a key stretch of National Highway 927C in Gujarat.

The project covers the Chitrod–Rapar–Balasar section, spanning 57.848 km, and is aimed at enhancing road infrastructure and connectivity in the region.

According to the minister, NH 927C begins near Chitrod at its junction with National Highway 27 (Amritsar–Jamnagar Corridor) and extends up to Balasar, where it connects with NH 754K. The highway plays a crucial role in facilitating the transportation of raw materials from Fatehgarh, a major source for the Morbi ceramic industry, thereby strengthening industrial logistics between Fatehgarh and Morbi.

The corridor is also strategically significant from a tourism perspective, as it connects key destinations such as Dholavira, Dhordo, and the popular ‘Road to Heaven’ route in Kutch.

The upgradation is expected to improve overall connectivity, enhance road safety, and boost regional economic activity. Additionally, the project includes the construction of a bypass around Rapar town, which will help decongest traffic within the urban area.

The development is expected to significantly streamline both industrial transport and tourist movement across the Kutch region. DeshGujarat
