Gujarat Swelters Under Intense Heat; Ahmedabad, Rajkot Above 43°C

Ahmedabad: Heatwave-like conditions continued to prevail across Gujarat, with several major cities recording maximum temperatures above the 40°C mark on Sunday. Ahmedabad registered 43.1°C, while Rajkot remained among the hottest major cities at 43.5°C. Vadodara recorded 42.6°C and Surat touched 41.9°C.

According to the latest weather report issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) this morning, Surendranagar emerged as the hottest place in Gujarat with a maximum temperature of 44.5°C, followed by Rajkot at 43.5°C and Amreli at 43.3°C. Gandhinagar also recorded a high of 43.0°C.

Among other regions, Bhuj registered 42.6°C, while Deesa recorded 42.3°C. Bhavnagar saw a maximum temperature of 41.2°C, and Junagadh recorded 40.4°C. Dang also crossed the 40-degree mark with 40.1°C.

Coastal areas experienced relatively milder conditions due to maritime influence. Dwarka and Veraval recorded 32.4°C each, while Okha registered 35.0°C and Porbandar 35.4°C.

The data also indicated temperature departures above normal levels in several cities. Surat recorded one of the highest positive departures at 6.2°C above normal, followed by Deesa at 5.8°C and Bhuj at 3.4°C. Vadodara was 2.4°C above normal, while Rajkot remained 2.5°C above seasonal averages.

No rainfall activity was reported from any of the weather stations across Gujarat, with dry weather conditions persisting throughout the state. Meteorological conditions indicate continued hot and dry weather, with temperatures likely to remain elevated in the coming days. DeshGujarat
