Which Places in Gujarat Might Get Rain This Week? Here’s the IMD Forecast
June 08, 2026
Ahmedabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall and thundershowers in parts of Gujarat through this week. However, during the next four days, until June 11, rainfall activity is expected to remain largely confined to South Gujarat.
According to the IMD’s latest seven-day forecast issued on Sunday, isolated rainfall activity is likely in the South Gujarat districts of Dang, Tapi, Navsari and Valsad, as well as in Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman, from June 8 to June 10. Most parts of North Gujarat, Saurashtra-Kutch and Diu are expected to remain dry during this period. On June 11, rainfall activity is also expected to extend to Chhota Udepur, Narmada and Surat districts.
Thereafter, rainfall activity is likely to expand further from June 12 onwards. On June 12, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are forecast at isolated places in Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari and Valsad districts. Similar weather conditions are also expected in Panchmahal, Dahod and Mahisagar districts of eastern Gujarat.

Parts of Saurashtra, including Amreli, Bhavnagar and Gir Somnath, may also receive isolated showers on June 12.
On June 13 and 14, rainfall activity is expected to spread further, with isolated showers likely in Aravalli, Panchmahal, Dahod and Mahisagar districts in central Gujarat; all districts of South Gujarat; and Saurashtra districts including Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar and Gir Somnath. Diu is also likely to receive light rainfall during this period.
Despite the anticipated showers, the IMD has not issued any weather warning for Gujarat during the next seven days, indicating that no heavy rainfall events are expected.
Meanwhile, maximum temperatures are likely to remain largely unchanged across the state. Ahmedabad recorded a maximum temperature of 41.9°C on Sunday, which was the highest temperature recorded in Gujarat, jointly with Rajkot. The city is expected to witness a partly cloudy sky on Monday, with the maximum temperature likely to remain around 42°C.
The IMD noted that the southwest monsoon has advanced further into parts of the Arabian Sea, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Conditions remain favourable for its further advancement over western and central India during the next two to three days, which could pave the way for its eventual arrival in Gujarat by June 15.
