IndiGo Flight From Ahmedabad Makes Emergency Landing at Surat Airport

Ahmedabad: An IndiGo flight from Ahmedabad to Navi Mumbai made an emergency landing at Surat on Monday evening after the health of a three-year-old passenger suddenly deteriorated mid-flight, prompting immediate medical assistance and a swift emergency response on the ground.

Flight 6E-7018 had departed from Ahmedabad at around 7 pm with 72 passengers on board. Around 8.20 pm, the three-year-old child, who was travelling with his mother and was reportedly unwell before boarding, fell seriously ill during the journey.

The cabin crew appealed for medical assistance, and two doctors travelling on the flight stepped forward to examine the child. Despite their efforts, the child’s condition did not improve, prompting the pilot to divert the aircraft and make a precautionary emergency landing at Surat International Airport.

After receiving an alert from Air Traffic Control, the CISF, airport medical team, IndiGo staff and other agencies coordinated to handle the emergency. The aircraft landed safely, following which medical personnel provided first aid before shifting the child to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Officials said the CISF facilitated the child’s quick transfer by coordinating closely with the airport authorities, airline staff and the medical team. After the medical emergency was handled, the flight resumed its journey and departed Surat for Navi Mumbai at around 9.20 pm. DeshGujarat
