Railway fare hike from 21 January:Railway minister

Indian Railways will hike passenger fares from Janaury 21, Unnion Railway minister PK Bansal announced today. The new hike will be effective in second class and AC class travel. Minister said the hike has become imperative. Bansal said input cost increased while railway fares remained stagnant, there was no hike for the last ten years.
Hike: First class AC – 30 paise per km
AC three tire – 10 paise per km
AC Chair car – 10 paise per km
Second class mail/express – 4 paise per km
Sleeper class – 6 paise per km
