It’s continuing, another day another sponsor backs out from Wharton event

Ahmedabad, 7 March 2013

It was another day, and another sponsor backed out from the 17th Wharton India Economic Forum event.

Colors channel was one of the two silver sponsors of Wharton India Economic Forum event, and therefore channel’s symbol was present in the list of silver category sponsors on WhartonIndia website till today morning. However later in the day the symbol and the name of Colors channel vanished from the WhartonIndia website. This clearly indicates that Colors too has canceled its sponsorship to the event.

Yesterday another sponsor Hexaware Technologies had backed out from the event with cancellation of sponsorship. Hexaware’s symbol and name were removed from the the list of sponsors on WhartonIndia website. Hexaware was bronze sponsor of the event. Before that, platinum sponsor of the event Adani group had backed out and canceled its sponsorship to the event. Adani’s symbol and name too were removed from the list of sponsors on the website.

Key note speakers Gautam Adani, Atul Nishar and panelists Suresh Prabhu and Sadanand Dhume have backed out from the event so far, and their details too are removed from the website of WhartonIndia.

Wharton’s 17th forum event has literally become a joke now. Everyday they need to make changes to a list of sponsors and speakers on their website. The organizers are desperate to replace one speaker with another, but no takers for this controversial event!

Wharton’s India Forum event is facing tremendous anger from India and abroad for its unprofessional and childish behavior and its decision of dropping Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi from the speakers list under influence of couple of hundred leftists settled in America.

The event has now become a small event limited to some speakers mostly aligned to the central government or ruling Congress party.

Government of India through its brand ‘Incredible India’ and Deutsche Bank are only two external sponsors left now in support of Wharton’s 17the India Economic Forum.
