Amdavad's this serial protester crosses limits

Amdavad's this serial protester crosses limitsThe city of Amdavad on Friday witnessed a shameful type of protest by famous ‘serial protester’ of University area.

Gujarat University’s self-styled student leader(who is 42 and father of a son who is 12th student) Hemendra Bagdi today blind folded Mahatma Gandhi’s statue on city’s Income Tax cross roads.

For last several weeks a small group of ‘student activists’ do every kind of gimmick. But shamefully today they crossed all limits by doing gimmick with Mahatma Gandhi’s statue.

Bagdi is somewhat a funny character. He needs no reason to protest. He can adopt any issue. His latest campaign is against Dr. Ketan Desai’s induction in Gujarat University Senate body. Dr. Desai has been elected uncontested to Gujarat University Senate body. Recently the Gujarat High Court also had approved his appointment. But, for our Bagdi, the issue is not closed till the time it continues to give publicity.

The question is: what if somebody tomorrow come and vandalize Mahatma Gandhi’s statue as part of protest in day-light? Is there something called Police on the roads? Why such protest was not prevented? Mass SMS had been circulated in advance about today’s protest idea, but then why Police didn’t intervene and stop?
