Model code of conduct partially relaxed in Gujarat

As polling in Gujarat is over, the Election Commission has partially relaxed the model code of conduct. Those development works for which work orders were issued can be resumed. Such works mainly involve construction of roads and public buildings, drainage, drinking water pipeline etc. The model code of conduct is effective in Gujarat for over one and half month. As per a directive sent to local bodies by state government, new works can not be started at this stage, as model code of conduct is still effective in the state.
