SMC to have Transport Committee

Surat Municipal Corporation(SMC) which has 11 committees as per the BPMC act will soon form 12th committee for transportation in the city.
According to the Standing Committer Chairman Rajesh Desai, the city of Surat has now functional Bus Rapid Transit System(BRTS) which carries 17-19,000 passengers every day on two routes. The buses will have wi-fi connectivity in future for free. The committee on Transport will resolve the issues regarding transportation, traffic and parking.
The SMC has also taken a decision to give calendars to citizens. 25,000 copies of 12-page color calendar will be distributed with tax bill to citizens. The SMC will through these calendars highlight its projects and propagate the messages.
