Former BJP corporator from ward number 12 of Vadodara Municipal Corporation Prafullgiri Goswami, who was in limelight during the recently held local body polls for his ‘switching acts’ between Congress and BJP, died in his sleep last night.
Goswami had organized the birthday party of his daughter Sagun at his Brajdham society resident in Atladra area of the city last night and went to sleep after it but could not get up today. He was taken to a local hospital where doctors pronounced him brought dead.
He had left BJP to join Congress after denial of ticket in the local polls and even filed nominations from the party ticket against the present mayor Bharat Dangar. But in a surprise move he took back his nomination on the last date of recall paving way for Dangar’s unopposed win. He later returned to BJP fold.
Dangar, who visited the deceased place, said it was a loss for the BJP family. BJP state general secretary Shabdsharan Brahambhatt also reached to console the grieving family members.
