Congress seeks release of quota agitators from jails

Ahmedabad:

After AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, Leader of Opposition Shankersinh Vaghela and NCP leader Praful Patel today Congress leader Siddharth Patel issued a statement and sought release of quota stir leader Hardik Patel from jail.

Siddharth Patel said, “Patidar community youth Hardik Patel has been in jail for last 8 months and his many aides are also in jail. Gujarat government is committing atrocity on Hardik Patel and other youths who are seeking social justice through democratic method. There’s a situation now that limit has been crossed.”

He said Hardik Patel and his aides need to be released immediately by Gujarat government.

Hardik is in jail for various offenses filed by Gujarat police. His bail pleas have been turned down by various courts so far. A violent agitation led by him had seen burning of buses, bus-stops, government properties and killing of at least 10 persons.
