Former aide, terms Hardik as ‘Shakuni Mama’

Ahmedabad: Close on heels of the ‘backlash’ in Karamsad, the birth place of Sardar Patel, PAAS convener Hardik Patel has now faced a stiff opposition from another former aide and convener of his outfit in Mandal taluka, D I Patel, who has in a video message on social media, termed him ‘Shakuni Mama’ (the villainous character of epic Mahabharata ).

D I Patel in the message has said that Hardik Patel was trying to weaken the Patidars community with his mischievous and selfish acts.

‘You (Hardik) can’t be compared to even Duryodhana, you are in fact like Shakuni Mama. Ever since you have come from Rajasthan (after spending six months outside Gujarat as per his bail conditions in two sedition cases), you are only targeting the government rather than taking up the issue of reservation,’ he is heard saying in the video.

In the video he has strongly objected to the ways adopted by Hardik to mislead the Patidar community for his own benefit.

Hardik, who was alleged by his close aides earlier of misusing of funds collected in the name of Patidar quota stir for leading luxurious life, had faced stiff opposition in Karamsad town of central Gujarat, the birth place of Sardar Patel.

He was shown black flag and faced an attempt of throwing black ink. Locals had shouted slogans like ‘Hardik Go back’ and don’t play politics in the name of reservation.
