Gujarat crosses 100% average monsoon rain figure mark

Gandhinagar: Gujarat today crossed the 100% mark of average monsoon rain figures with spells of heavy rainfall as some places even as met has continued its heavy to very heavy rainfall warning for next four days.

From 6am to 6pm today a total of 106 talukas in 26 districts have seen rain with Olpad in Surat district seeing the maximum of 148, Mangrol in Junagadh 103, Dhoraji in Rajkot 93, Jamjodhpur in Jamnagar 80 ,Amreli and Vanthali in Junagadh 73 each, Malia in Junagadh 71, Vagra in Bharuch 68 and Dhari in Amreli 56mm. A total of 35 places have seen 25 mm or more rain.

Ahmedabad city has seen light rain up to average 2 mm.

With this the rain figure has crossed 100% mark today. It was just short at 99.79% at 6 am this morning.

During the 24 hours ending 6 am today a total of 98 talukas in 30 districts had seen rain with maximum 87 mm in Sayla of Surendranagar district.

Meanwhile the met bulletin today has forecast of more rain during the night today and heavy rains during the coming four days.

DAY 1 (Today): Heavy to very heavy rains very likely at isolated places in the districts of Gujarat region namely Anand, Vadodara, Panchmahal, Dahod, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dangs, Navsari, Valsad and in Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli; in the districts of Saurashtra namely Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Morbi, Devbhumi Dwarka, Gir Somnath, Botad and in Diu.

DAY 2: Heavy to very heavy rains very likely at isolated places with isolated extremely heavy falls in the districts of South Gujarat region namely Navsari, Valsad and in Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli. Heavy to very heavy rains very likely at isolated places in the districts of South Gujarat region namely Surat, Dangs, and Tapi. Heavy rains very likely at isolated places in the districts of South Gujarat region namely Vadodara, Narmada, Bharuch; in the districts of Saurashtra namely Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath and in Diu.
