Vadodara Mayor, Rajkot Deputy Mayor offer to step down

Vadodara: Mayor Keyur Rokadia today resigned from the post of Mayor, following one person one position rule of the party. Rokadia has been elected as a legislator in the State Assembly from Sayajigunj assembly seat in Vadodara city last December. He also continued as Mayor of Vadodara city. As per the party’s rule, he has been instructed to offer his resignation now.
A day ago, the Deputy Mayor of Rajkot city Smt. Darshita Shah also offered her resignation following the same rule. Shah has been elected to the State Assembly from the city.
This development has taken place just ahead of the first full fledge session of the State Assembly in which MLAs will remain busy for about a month-long period in the State capital Gandhinagar. DeshGujarat
