Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today nabbed a Chief Ticket Inspector stationed at the Valsad headquarters for his alleged involvement in a bribery case amounting to Rs. 1500.
Gandhinagar ACB had gotten a tip that the ticket checkers on a train passing from Ahmedabad’s Kalupur railway station were accepting bribes from individuals travelling without tickets. Acting on this information, surveillance was conducted on a suspected individual, and a coordinated effort with the informant was organized. During this operation, the accused, Vijay Chimanbhai Patel, Chief Ticket Inspector of Section 3 at Valsad railway headquarters, demanded Rs. 1,500 from the informant to allow him to travel from Ahmedabad to Mehsana without a ticket on the Valsad-Vadnagar train.
The accused was caught red-handed and has been detained by the ACB. DeshGujarat
