Petrol Crosses ₹100 per Litre in Gujarat After Latest Fuel Price Hike

Ahmedabad: Fuel prices witnessed their fourth increase in just 11 days on Monday, with petrol rates in Gujarat crossing the ₹100-per-litre mark. State-run oil marketing companies revised retail fuel prices with effect from 6 am on May 25.
Following the latest revision, petrol prices in Ahmedabad increased by ₹2.60 per litre, rising from ₹99.23 to ₹101.83. Diesel prices also saw a hike of ₹2.79 per litre, increasing from ₹95.13 to ₹97.92.
New fuel rates in major Gujarat cities:
Rajkot: Petrol is now priced at ₹101.61 per litre; diesel stands at ₹97.74 per litre.
Vadodara: Petrol is priced at ₹101.46 per litre; diesel stands at ₹97.57 per litre.
Surat: Petrol has reached ₹101.61 per litre; diesel is priced at ₹97.74 per litre.
The latest increase came just two days after the previous revision on May 23, following earlier fuel price hikes implemented on May 15 and May 19. With this, petrol prices in Ahmedabad have once again breached the psychologically significant ₹100-per-litre mark.
Since the first hike on May 15, petrol prices in Ahmedabad have risen by ₹7.32 per litre, climbing from ₹94.51 to ₹101.83. During the same period, diesel prices increased by ₹7.75 per litre, from ₹90.17 to ₹97.92.
With petrol now selling above ₹101 per litre and diesel nearing the ₹98 mark across Gujarat, the latest revisions are expected to add pressure on transporters, businesses, and daily commuters. DeshGujarat
