May 30, 2026
Ahmedabad: Gujarat witnessed a slight respite from the intense summer heat on Friday as maximum temperatures dropped across several parts of the state, with no rainfall reported anywhere during the last 24 hours, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Ahmedabad recorded a maximum temperature of 43.1°C, which was 1.2°C above normal but lower than the scorching temperatures witnessed earlier this week. Similar relief was observed in Gandhinagar, where the mercury settled at 42.7°C, while Surendranagar recorded 41.5°C.
Among the major cities, Bhavnagar remained one of the hottest places in the state with a maximum temperature of 42.7°C, followed by Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. Rajkot recorded 39.9°C, while Vadodara registered 39.6°C. Temperatures remained comparatively lower in coastal areas, with Dwarka recording 32.1°C, Veraval 33.8°C and Diu 34.0°C.
The lowest maximum temperature among the reporting stations was recorded in Dwarka at 32.1°C, reflecting the moderating influence of the Arabian Sea along the coastline.
Night temperatures, however, continued to remain above normal at most places. Ahmedabad recorded a minimum temperature of 29.4°C, while Veraval registered the highest minimum temperature of 29.5°C. Humidity levels remained relatively high in coastal districts, with Dwarka and Veraval recording morning relative humidity of 80%.
No rainfall was reported from any of the monitored weather stations across Gujarat during the period ending at 8:30 am on May 30.
Weather officials indicated that while temperatures have eased slightly compared to recent days, several inland areas of Gujarat continue to experience hot and humid conditions, particularly during afternoon hours. DeshGujarat
