Viksit Gujarat Industrial Policy 2026 Unveiled; Aims to Make State Global Manufacturing Hub

Gandhinagar: Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel today launched ‘Viksit Gujarat Industrial Policy 2026’ at Mahatma Mandir. The main objective of this new policy is to establish Gujarat as a globally competitive, innovation-based and sustainable industrial powerhouse.
The main highlights of the new policy are as follows:
Special focus on thrust sectors: This policy has special focus on future sectors (Thrust Sectors) such as green hydrogen, green ammonia, semiconductor ancillary units, robotics, drones, space-related manufacturing and electric vehicles.
Incentives for MSME and large industries: MSME units will get the benefit of capital subsidy, interest subsidy and power tariff concession as per their choice. Attractive incentive packages have also been announced for large, mega and ultra-mega units as per the project requirement.
Women and Youth Entrepreneurship: Women-led startups will be given a maintenance allowance of ₹30,000 per month and an additional 1% interest subsidy to women entrepreneurs. In addition, there is a provision for special training and rental assistance for women rejoining the industry after taking a career break.
Global R&D Hub: To make Gujarat a hub for research and development, the first five R&D centres will get ‘early-bird’ facilities like capital subsidy of up to ₹50 crore and concession of ₹1 per unit in power tariff.
Workers’ Welfare and Infrastructure: The government will provide financial assistance of up to 80% (maximum ₹40 crore) for construction of hostels and dormitories for workers in industrial areas.
Environmental Conservation and Project T.H.R.I.V.E.: Industries will be encouraged to relocate outside the cities to reduce congestion in cities. Along with this, assistance of up to ₹75 crore has been provided for Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) and Wastewater Recycling projects.
Skill Development: Assistance of up to ₹10 crore will be provided to anchor institutes and specialized skill development centres to prepare skilled manpower for industries.
