Gujarat Govt approves incentive assistance for 15 large industrial projects worth ₹1,567 crore

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has approved incentive assistance to 15 large industrial units with a total investment of ₹1,567.18 crore under the Incentive to Industries Scheme of the state’s Industrial Policy-2015. These investments are expected to create approximately 1,238 employment opportunities in the state, an official release said.

These approvals were given in a meeting of the committee that issues final eligibility certificates to large industries under the scheme. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Chief Minister and Industries Minister Harsh Sanghavi.

Among the projects approved, one includes an investment of ₹999.82 crore in the chemicals sector in Bharuch district. Projects with investments of ₹75.72 crore in the automobile sector in Ahmedabad district and ₹44.56 crore in the automobile sector in Surendranagar district have also been approved. In addition, a project worth ₹13 crore in the textile sector in Gandhinagar district has also been approved for incentive assistance.

In order to make Gujarat one of the most attractive investment destinations in India and globally, the Incentive to Industries Scheme was implemented under the State Industrial Policy-2015. Under this scheme, net SGST assistance is provided to eligible industries setting up in Gujarat. The main objective of the scheme is to promote manufacturing, technological innovation, and large-scale industrial investments, a press release said.

As per the Gujarat government, a total investment of ₹1,48,336.35 crore has been attracted to the state so far under this scheme, and about 1,65,053 direct jobs have been created. Besides, this scheme has also given a boost to the development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), resulting in the creation of an industrial ecosystem in Gujarat. DeshGujarat
