Salangpur Copyright Row: Temple Trust Says Copyright Covers Statue, Logo, Not Hanumanji

Salangpur: The Shri Kashtabhanjandev Hanumanji Temple Trust has officially clarified the ongoing controversy surrounding the copyright secured by Salangpur Dham. According to the trust, the legal steps have been taken only to prevent misuse of the unique statue of the ‘King of Salangpur’, its Golden Wagha, and the institution’s logo and to protect devotees from fake offerings, online fraud, and other professional malpractices.

In an official clarification, the Shri Kashtabhanjan Dev Hanumanji Temple, Salangpur, said, “The copyright belongs solely to the 54-foot-tall ‘King of Salangpur’ statue, the Golden Wagha, and the institution’s logo, not to Lord Hanumanji. To prevent fraud and scams worth crores involving devotees through fake websites created by miscreants for donations, room bookings, and in the name of fake statues, legal action has been taken. Any devotee can practice devotion, worship, or even build a new temple, the institution has no objection to that. We pray that no politics be done in the name of a religious place and that the unity of Sanatan be preserved. Hanumanji belongs to all, always has, and always will.”

Notably, after the news of the Salangpur Temple Trust securing IP rights came to light, the trust witnessed protests from Hindu organisations, saints, and devotees, who argued that a deity cannot be treated as “private property.” DeshGujarat
