Amreli: Heavy rains in Amreli district during the last 24 hours have disrupted normal life. People are in trouble as floodwaters entered many villages, while continuous rescue and evacuation operations are being carried out by the administration, police, fire brigade, and disaster management teams.
The most serious monsoon situation has arisen in Rajula taluka. Due to continuous heavy rains in the upper reaches, after Dhatarwadi-2 Dam, Dhatarwadi-1 Dam has also overflowed. The risk of flooding in low-lying areas has increased due to the release of water from the dam. The administration has put Mandardi, Navi Mandardi, and Juhi Jhampodar villages on high alert. Gram Panchayats are issuing instructions through loudspeakers asking people to stay away from the riverbanks and move their livestock to safe places.
