Gujarat Police Nab MP Man for Posing as Hindu, Trapping Minor Girl in Sextortion Scheme

Ahmedabad: Gujarat police have arrested a married man from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, after he used a fake profile and false identity to threaten a 17-year-old Hindu girl online for months.

Posing as a 23-year-old unmarried Hindu called “Sonu,” the accused, 25-year-old Bittukhan Rahishkhan, befriended the teenager on social media, won her trust and then pressured her into making explicit video calls, tried to arrange an in-person meeting and threatened to defame her when she resisted.

The girl, a resident of Kanbha who studies in another city and stays in a hostel, was contacted via a messaging app in February, police said. The suspect later obtained her phone number and continued communicating on WhatsApp. Over the last two months, he repeatedly urged the minor into explicit video chats and to meet him for sexual relations; when she refused, he allegedly threatened to circulate intimate material online and harm her reputation.

Authorities say he also tricked the girl into sharing her Gmail and Instagram passwords, monitored her accounts and used that access to control her. The victim told her family, and her mother then approached Kanbha police. A joint team from the local crime branch and Kanbha police investigated and found that the suspect had concealed his real name, religion and marital status.

Officials said he is a married Muslim with one child. Rahishkhan was arrested and booked under relevant sections of the penal code, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the IT Act, Deputy SP Nilam Goswami said on Friday. DeshGujarat
