Mobs,Arson,stone pelting,firing,Curfew:One dead in Vadodara

Curfew was imposed in Vadodara’s Fatepura area after communal violence erupted again on Monday morning.
Rioters continuously pelted stones heavily and set Hindu religious place on fire. They also torched some vehicles and looted shops. Police lobbed 21 tear gas shells and 4 rounds of fire.
1 person was dead in police firing while 8 were injured including some police men. Rain helped police to control the situation. Fire brigade also rushed the scene.

On Sunday evening while Ganesh immersion procession entered into the Muslim dominated area, it was attacked. Riots broke out then after. After peaceful Sunday night, mobs again started pelting stones on Monday noon time.
In the afternoon and evening phase situation remained under control, however one person was stabbed in Mangalbazar area.
Shops in Vadodara’s eastern area remained closed on Monday however city’s west area was untouched by riots.
