Narendra Modi is busy nowadays canvasing for next elections. Because elections are not declared he can enjoy state government’s machinery and he uses it for every public meeting be it for gathering people or for reaching there through government’s helicopter.
Tribals’ share in Gujarat’s population is 15 percent. Traditionally they are pro congress voters but in last Gujarat assembly elections due to Godhra incident BJP won heavily in tribal belt.More than two dozen assembly seats which Congress had never lost in Gujarat’s history were won by BJP in post Godhra election’s Hindu wave. It should be noted that Godhra itself is situated in Gujarat’s eastern tribal belt area.
After post Godhra assembly elections there were Parliament elections and Nagar palika, district panchayat elections etc. In these elections Congress regained it’s traditional tribal belt because Godhra had no impact then. So congress is eying central Gujarat’s tribal seats that it has lost due to Godhra wave as per congress claims. BJP on the other hand says, Godhra or no Godhra, Congress is finished.
