16th century Dwarkadhish (Lord of Dwarka) temple in Dwarka is a famous pilgrimage site for Hindus all over the world.Over 100,000 pilgrims pay holy visit to Dwarka every year.
Main temple stands on 72 pillars. The temple spire is 78.3 m (235 feet) high. From the temple dome, an 84 foot long multi-colored flag decorated with the symbols of the sun and moon gently flutters in the breeze. Lord Krishna’s grandson Vajranabha is said to have built the original temple of Dwarkadhish over the hari-graha (Lord Krishna’s residential place).
The sanctum of the temple is formed by the Jagat Mandir or Nija Mandir which dates back at least 2,500 years. The Jagat Mandir has a tall tower and a hall of audience and comprises five floors.
The main deity is Lord Dwarkadhish, who represents the four-armed form of Vishnu called Trivikrama. There is a temple of Lord Baladevaji (Balarama) to the right of the main deity. The temple to the left is Pradyumna and a small deity of Aniruddha. They are the son and grandson of Lord Krishna. Behind the main temple in the eastern part of the temple compound are shrines of Radhikaji, Jambuvatiji, Satyabhamaji and Lakshmiji. There are also shrines of Saraswati and Lakshmi-Narayan.

Namaste DeshGujarat Team:
I am a regular visitor to you website and enjoy, particularly reading about Shri Modi. However, a link in this story states:
“Krishna’s Dwaraka was a western Indian city that according to Vishnu Purana was submerged by the sea right after the death of Lord Krishna. This was regarded as a grandiose metaphor, part of a story filled with great myths.”
May I request you to refrain from using/abusing the word with reference to any (Hindu) Sanathan Dharma? The word ‘myth/mythology’ is a western/Christian concept for anything that is oriental in general and Hinduism in particular.
The dictionary meaning of mythology/myth roughly mean: Imaginary, that which never existed, fiction, illusionary….
I hope you agree that Hinduism is not a mythology/myth.

I am with you my friend. It is just a matter of use of english in our routine life. But, for the platform like journalism, they should describe with the specific words. Also, Hinduism is the only religion in the world which is not having any UDGAMBINDU as it is SANATAN.
