Coming soon:A pair of giraffes at Ahmedabad’s Kankaria zoo

Kankaria zoo might get a pair of three-years-old giraffes by the beginning of the new year. A pair of young giraffes from South Africa are on their way to Ahmedabad. A pair cost 60,000 euros(Rs 37 lakh).
Two acres of land has been allotted for a special enclosure of the giraffes in the zoo. A final clearance from Central Zoo Authority is awaited. After Britain, United States and Germany, Kankaria Zoo zeroed on South African private farm house for procurement of the giraffes. Three animal keepers of Kankaria zoo are already undergoing a special training programme at Mysore to look after these giraffes.
