A new Tsunami/cyclone alert system was dedicated by the government of India’s Joint Secretary, Information and Technology department, Shri Shankar Agravat at Kutch’s Mundra taluka’s Bhadreshwar coast in Gujarat, yesterday. Kutch Navnirman Abhiyan’s Shri Loladharbhai Gada whose constant efforts helped to bring this system here was also present at this occasion.

Tsunami/cyclone alert System’s loud siren will alert the coastal people about cyclone and tsunami/cyclone before an hour in 1 km area.

The system also known as ocean information system will provide information in Gujarati script on its display board and suggest prolific fishing areas in the sea to the fishermen. This data, obtained by satellite observation, will be received through live link up with Hyderabad based institution. The data will be updated once everyday. Similar systems will be erected at Kutch’s Mandvi, Nana Layja and Jakhau ports in near future.
