100 Gujarat Police jawans to get training like NSG commandos

The first batch of 100 men from Gujarat State Reserve Police (SRP) force headed by SR Yadav, deputy superintendent of police, SRP 12th Batallion will be trained like black cat commandos at Rajasthan Police Training College in Jodhpur by former National Security Guard(NSG) and Army officials for 210 days. The plan is to train a total of 400 jawans.

Director general of police SS Khandvawala flagged off the first batch headed by two SRP inspectors and sub-inspectors each and 94 jawans on Friday. The jawans will go through rigorous training such as using weapons, explosives, ambush and attack operations, getting down from helicopters, paragliding, rafting and swimming under difficult conditions and evacuation operations. They will get 50 per cent bonus every month along with their existing salary for their skills.
