Ahmedabad beats all major cities of India in job-creation growth

According to a survey carried out by ASSOCHAM on the ‘Employment Scenario in India’, the city of Ahmedabad leads India’s tier -2 cities in job-creation growth beating major cities such as Delhi and Mumbai. Considering all kinds of cities(tier – 1, 2 and 3), the city of Ahmedabad stands just second to Punucherry(tier 3 city).
According to survey results, Ahmedabad witnessed 21.50% job opportunities growth in the April-October 2009 period, highest among all 17 tire-2 cities of the country(Delhi-NCR -23.42%, Mumbai 3.28%). The survey report also reveals that central Gujarat’s Ankleshwar and Vadodara stand second and third respectively among tier-3 cities on the parameter of job-creation growth. Both the places registered 14.55% and 1.31% growth respectively compared to the same period last year.
