Pakistan’s Maritime Security Agency on Friday kidnapped three fishing boats of Gujarat and arrested 13 Gujarati fishermen for “illegally trawling in its waters” in the Arabian Sea.
“Our officials seized three Indian fishing boats, arrested 13 crew members 55 nautical miles inside our territorial waters and they have been handed over to the police,” MSA spokesman Lieutenant Commander Shakeel Ahmed Khan said.
There are more around 594 Indian fishermen in Pakistani jail. Most of them are from coastal border state of Gujarat. More than 350 Indian fishermen have completed their sentence. However they are still languishing in jail due to unfriendly relation between two countries.
