Kandla Port Trust to start Marine College in Gandhidham

A new Maritime college affiliated with Chennai Maritime University will be started at Gandhidham.
This decision was taken unanimously in Kandla Port Trust’s Board meeting on Sunday.
The Kandla Port Trust will allocate land for college building.
Proposal of Rs 3 crore development works, Rs 16 crore draging work, Logistic park at Chirai,Chitrod or Mundra connected with JNPT-Delhi corridor, permit to new IFCO jetty, medical facilities to retired workers were also approved by the board.
Kandla Port Trust’s Rs 102 crore annual budget was also passed in the meeting. Last year Kandla Port spent Rs 98 crore. Profit after tax has been Rs 161 crore. While in last year 76 million tonne cargo was handled, this year 78 million tonne cargo handling is targeted.
