Gujarat Home Minister Amit Shah boards Navy ship

Indian Navy exhibited a live rescue operation through its helicopter at Porbandar jetty on Tuesday. This act was performed in the course of Navy week celebration.

Indian Navy’s Valsura based Shri Dipak Anand Amonkar led a 20-member INS Valsura band that played patriotic and other song tunes during Beating retreat ceremony in the evening. Minister of state for Home Shri Amit Shah was Chief Guest in this programme.

On this occasion three ships of Indian Navy were brought to Porbandar jetty with attractive lighting.

Gujarat’s Naval Officer In Charge Shri Utpal Vora thanked the people for their cooperation in celebrating Navy week. The Minister of state for Home Shri Amit Shah praised the Naval band team.

District Collector O.B.Parmar, DDO P.A.Shah. District Police Superintendent Shri Dipankar Trivedi, other senior officials were present on the occasion that was witnessed by hundreds of people.

Earlier state’s Home Minister Amit Shah witnessed mid-sea war scenes and working of Indian Navy ships: Betwa, Tabar and Vidyut on board. Tabar’s captain D.Shekhavat, Betwa’s captain Dhiren Vinge and Vidyut’s captain Left Commander Ramse were present on this occasion. Indian Navy’s Chetak helicopters exhibited its mid-sea activities. Tabar and Betwa’s parallel operations, exchange of fuel, jawans and supplies etc were exhibited live in the sea.

“Gujarat enjoys good coordination between various security agencies,” Minister Amit Shah said.

Porbandar MLA Pravinbhai Makadia, Porbandar local body President Sunilbhai Gohil, invited guests, journalists and students were also present on this occasion.
