People present at Gujarat Law Society Ground in Ahmedabad’s Law Gardan area on the occasion of Book fair inauguration function were shocked when they heard Congress man Sudhir Nanavati praising Modi on the mike.
Sudhir Nanavati, senior Gujarat high court advocate and executive vice president of GLS, which runs a number of educational institutes in Ahmedabad, including schools and colleges is actually a Congress man who contested as a Congress candidate against BJP’s Haren Pandya from Ellisbridge assembly constituency in 1990 but had lost the polls. Nanavati was also Vice president of Congress dominated Gujarat Cricket Association, before Narendra Modi conquered the body last year. Nanavati’s son Devang Nanavati had joined the BJP before Lok sabha elections last year.
“Narendra Modi is second Iron man from Gujarat after late Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. I wish him as Chief Minister of Gujarat for next 25 years and more,” said Nanavati.
“Narendra Modi is wonderful orator who can speak from heart without any preparation. He reminds me a senior fellow advocate in Supreme Court Mr. Subramanyam,” added Nanavati.
Nanavati’s good words for Modi occupied major part of his short speech. Modi looked amused.
It seems Ahmedabad’s this education sector big-wig is inching closer towards BJP.
