Shri Pramukhswami Maharaj today morning performed ground breaking of new proposed Swaminarayan Mandir in North Gujarat’s town Himmatnagar.
About five thousand devotees of BAPS attended the function.
The five-shikhara Mandir with convention hall, sadhu residence and other facilities will be constructed on 16 acre land near National Highway No.8.

First of all, Pramukh Swami Maharaj is not wasting money by building mandirs. You are not building mandirs, how many people have YOU fed or helped? How have you help reduce poverty in India? Besides building mandirs, Pramukh Swami Maharaj has helped thousands get proper education, food, and all the basic necessities of life. He has helped many get out of the trap of alcohol, drugs and tobacco addiction. And it is the magic of the mandirs that help these people change their minds. Reflect upon your own self, and tell me how many people’s minds have you changed about addictions, and what not. Mandir keeps the Indian heritage from dying from the Western influence. If there is no Indian heritage left, there is not question about “ruling others”.
Oh, and to answer your second question, BAPS did go to Haiti to help the people in need. Get your information right before saying anything.

Who says they (baps)not do anything for haiti guys they raise fund to help victim. Please don`t` make any baseless comments. Regarding Temple I want to add that yes mandir deffinatly make reliable, displined and strong society if we follow and understand the philosophy . I want to ask one question to you how many temple did you see where people split on to wall or floor ? probably no any ..so people follow displine in temples atleast………
Hindus are declining and nobody really care about it!! By building temple only want help…..go and see south india….people around big temple became christians bcoz these big temple never took interest in poor people welfare.
Why not our hindu saints go out to muslim and christian world and try to convince them about Hinduism and its true colours. Only Buddha went out and became universal religion from India.
It is not about convincing it is about following it right. If we believe ourselves to be true Hindu, then we shouldn’t be making claims like building temples is not good! If we, ourselves do not have enough ASMITA towards our own identity and religion, how can we go about convincing otheres?? There is a key difference in us Hindus and others someone mentiond. They have staunch Asmita towards their religion which WE SEEM TO LACK. If you rally did wanted to convince Muslims and christians, YOU NEED TO HAVE SAME ASMITA AS THEM!!!!! However, by building mandirs we are simply saving our BHARTIYAS HERITAGE. BHARTIYA SANSKRUTI, and OUT TRUE ASMITA towards our DESH and DHARMA. I am sorry if I offended some people in here, but I had to say the TRUTH that lies behind the mandirs Pujya Pramukhswami Makes. He is saving out BHARTIYTA in a true sense both in India and outside of India.

Guys I m not swaminarayan so dont think I am favoring anyone just because I am swaminarayan.
I really appreciate that temples are built by him. Pramukh swami is spritual person and we dont have rights to comment on his work. Because millions of people following him. Millions of people listen to him. He has some kind of magic on people so he help them to come out of bad things.
Now other comment I would like to make is on swaminarayan. If u agree or not but one thing is fact that Swaminarayan people will force u to become swaminarayan. And people do help u with money and all if u go to sabha and start following swaminarayan . I m not saying all of them are like that but I had lot of experience in past.
I would say Pramukh swami is doing great job and he is helping lot of people . He made lot of temple which helps lot to mass .. Keep doing it

Today’s situation is like that we don’t need mandir because we realy dont know “Mandir is for what?” Mandir is for building our life and character and off course to get spiritual success.
as we a hindu we need mandir. and Pramukh Swami does that for bright and secure future of ours and our next generation.
We have seen many Hindu foolish comment on not making more mandirs. They think this is a waste of money. But look at other religions like Islam and Christianity.
These two religions are the biggest religions in the world. I have never heard from any Christians that Church are waste of money. I haven’t heard a single world commenting on Madressas or Mazjid from any Muslims. But I have seen many coward and impotent Hindus who oppose building Mandirs.
I want to say that If they tell themself Hindu and still oppose creating Mandirs, I have doubt about their parents religion. Either mother or father is not Hindu or either of his parents doesn’t want to disclose the truth(??) about his existence otherwise No Hindu would like to make a comment on building the mandirs.
Hospitals did not bring end to diseases but hospitals cured who came in hospitals, Traffic Law did not bring end to accidents but Law saves those who followed it, Sanitation did not bring end to dirt in whole world but it cleaned who choose to sanitized. Likewise temple does not bring end to all misery in this world but it surely saves from misery those who come to temple.
Just to give you one example the power of temple. Dang area of Gujarat, one of the most backward area of gujarat. Before BAPS Sadhu built temple, it was a land of crime. People use to live on their skills to kill and loot. Small children used to start their academics by improving their skills to steal and kill. They use to hunt animals, drink liquor, abuse women and lead a life full of misery.
BAPS Sadhu built a small temple. It was a baby step for the whole improvement process. In temple, Sadhu’s did not just teach spirituality but also taught how to live a life. It started with leaving bad habits like drinking & smoking and becoming vegetarian. Value of life was taught to them and how to respect each other.
With constant efforts by Sadhu’s by medium of temple, the adivasi people become so civilized that it would even being a shame on so called civilized NRI. Members of family started keeping cleanliness, performing daily spiritual rituals, saving money which they used to spend in liquor and meat, educating their children towards higher education and respecting one another by knowing true meaning of life.
Today their huts are replaced with concrete building, their children are studying Medical and Engineering and they live a true human life. All this was possible only because of activities which was lead though the medium of Temple.
BAPS does not only build temple but builds a true human serving center which frames human spiritually, mentally, physically and financially by its 260+ socio-religious activities.
So my friends those who see temple as waste of money are highly mistaken because they do not know its noble cause and benefits. It is not a waste but it is one of the best investment towards better living.

Why we are falling from Hinduism?
We need to wake up and look clearly. We are blind with eyes.
We need to have firm faith in religion. You can’t criticize who’s helping hinduism.
Come to Ameica and look what Indian youths do outside religion and what youths do at BAPS mandir.
currently 60 temples are built and people are getting peace of mind by just spending 3 hours a week.
