In a surprising statement, Central UPA minister for Tribal development on Saturday said the price rise in sugar is good.

Minister of state for Tribal development Tushar Chaudhary said, “People complain about price rise in sugar, but I am happy with it, because farmers earn more for their produce thanks to price rise. What’s better than this?”

“Despite of people shouting about price rise in sugar, I am happy because my voters are Sugarcane people and they are having great time thanks to price rise, so as me,” Chaudhary added.

Chaudhary said this while addressing a public meeting in southern Gujarat sugar belt town Bardoli.

Chaudhary is well known for such goof up statements. Last year during Lok Sabha election campaign, in one of the public meetings he encouraged villagers of his constituency to bet on his victory to earn good money in the election season.
