Mahesana Chief Court on Tuesday ordered police investigation against local Mamlatdar Hargovanbhai Parmar and trader Kanubhai Babubhai Patel who allegedly order to cut 26 healthy trees to facilitate Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s Garib Kalyan Mela public meeting on farmer Naranbhai Patel’s farming land.
According to farmer Naranbhai Patel’s advocate RN Barot, his client had submitted an application to local Mamlatdar in writing asking not to allow government to use his farm land survey no 724 on Visnagar road for Garib Kalyan Mela. Patel’s application to Mamlatdar was submitted four days before Garib Kalyan Mela date. But even after his application, the government administration cut 26 trees and used the land for Garib Kalyan Mela which was organized on 3 February. Patel then filed a complaint under Saurashtra Vriksh Chhedan Adhiniyam.
