Surti car owner pays 1.21 lac for desired number of his car

The people of Surat – India’s fastest developing city – paid hefty amount for a desired number for their vehicles on Saturday in an auction for GJ 5 CN series of registration numbers.
Number CN-1111 was sold for Rs 1.21 lac to Hazira based Rajgari’s Jitubhai Surati’s Skoda Superb car. The second highest bid was Rs 69,999 for 9999 number. The number 999 was sold for Rs 61,000 and 7777 for Rs 51,477. Rs 51,000 bid came for 111 number.
The Regional Transport Office(RTO) received 734 applications. More than one offer were received for 81 types of numbers.
