-NRG convention was held at Gujarat University’s big exhibition hall which is air conditioned and can accommodate thousands of people.

-There was a registration counter outside the hall where the NRGs were given bags with CD and literature.

-Front seats of audience side was occupied by NRGs.

-Chief Minister Narendra Modi arrived exactly at 6.00 pm with the Speaker Ashok Bhatt and Governor Dr. Kamla Beniwal.

-The persons on stage were state post master general, Gujarat BJP President Faldu, ex President Rupala, NRG minister Jaynarayan Vyas, Swarnim Jayanti Chairman IK Jadeja, Speaker Ashok Bhatt, minister Fakir Vaghela, Governor Dr. Kamla Beniwal

-In his welcome speech, Minister Jaynarayan Vyas only mentioned Gujarat’s progress of last ten years. He repeatedly talked about Narendra Modi and success of Gujarat under his regime, though this was a golden jubilee event.

-During the event, a special postal cover related to Gujarat was released. Gujarat Post Master General was therefore on the stage with the ministers.

-Names of various states and countries were announced from the stage in alphabetical order. Initially it was announced that for every Swarnim Kalash, only two persons are allowed to come on stage. But as NRGs protested this, later five persons per country/state were allowed.

-Gujaratis of Assam offered Assamese bamboo hat to the Chief Minister. Gujaratis of Nagaland offered him weapon stick and ethnic top. Gujaratis from Japan came on the stage with Japanese flag.

-After all speeches were over, at around 7:15 pm, the NRGs were called outside where ice cream and dinner was organized. At the same place ringing of bells, Shehnai, Ravan haththo, Dhol were also played with crackers touching the sky. This was started by Advani and Modi who pulled the rope of two big bells in the ground. This was symbolic celebration on the eve of Gujarat’s golden jubilee.

-After this break, there was a grand stage programme with multimedia inputs. This event was about Gujarat’s historical and cultural heritage.
