A song Jay Jay Jay Jay Garvi Gujarat composed by Oscar winner music composer AR Rehman was first launched on 1st of May Gujarat day function in Sardar Patel stadium of Ahmedabad. Since then it has been circulated lot online. The use of flute is very sweet. This flute is Kutchi Jodiya Pava flute. Here is a crude video of this song via Youtube.

Wow, this is really great song. I am glad to hear such a nice song. Very less use of instruments, but magic touch of A R Rehman works here. This song can really be used as background for promos.

It is not a passionate… i am not feeling any passion for Gujarat in this song. So slow and like bhajan… Don’t we have gr8 gujarati composer born in Gujarat?? It’s not fault of AR Rahman.. bacause he is not a gujarati, so of course he can’t add that kind of passion in this music.
I think the song must be have passion for gujarat and after hearing this song every gujarati must stand and say I can do anything for my gujarat.
BTW.. I am not feeling gr8 about this song.. and not finding anything gr8 in this music..

A.R. Rahman : It gives me immense pleasure to be commissioned by the Govt. of Gujarat to compose a song for the Gujarat Day celebrations. The song is called ‘Jai Jai Garvi Gujarat’ and has been written by noted writer Kavi Narmad. Other Gujarati writers on this song are Dilip Rawal, Ankit Trivedi, Sairam Dave & Chiragh Tripathi. The… Hindi version has been written by Prasoon Joshi. The film is being directed by my long term associate Bharatbala who has demonstrated his unique vision and I’m looking forward to the video.

This song is like a lullaby. Sounds like outdated outright boring, lacking any will power.
I was looking for some originality but got some time pass number instead.
I find it hard to remain awake listening to it. Who the crap asked him for such a dull song.
Why did NaMo approve of this dampener? His staff should be hauled up for this fiasco.
It looks like AR Rahman has lost his talent in the narrow minded western blind faith.
There is absolutely no richness in the music.
Even someone like Maniraj Barot can do thousand X better theme song for our Gujarat than this AR Rahman.
Or perhaps A Daak geet with Dakla beats sounds would have done far more justice to our world famous Gujarati culture.
After watching this video, It made me wanting for something decent. We don’t want this second hand, third grade mumbo jumbo from a failed AR Rahman.
We need some world quality content with global level youthful vigor that Gujarat is.
Honestly, I had lot of expectation from someone like AR Rehman. But unfortunately it turned out to be Disappointing, if not disgusting.
What we want is the spirit of Ravi Shankar, pure energy, and the spirit of daring and vibrancy of Gujarati enterprising culture in our songs. Is our Govt. listening?

Our Veer bhumi of Gujarat deserves a far better song. This song is too filmy and artificial.

Old gujrathi people know better about gujrat and but patriotic feeling must be infused in the young generation …….who will now lead modern gujrat ……this song is for them………..jus for nxt generation of gujrat…………i am sure who ever has given negative comments on this song will change their opinion with the time and appreciate the essence of the song……

@hari………r u in ur senses……i chkd youtube videos u suggested…….how can u compare this beautiful patriotic song composed by rahman to those song which doesnt have their own tune ….last 2 songs are filmy tunes where has 1st is gujrathi folk…….do u think that on swarnim song should be like that……..oh god….no at all…….this is perfect which has global appeal….which has ample essence of gujrath……….which can carry the message in it.. to the worldwide gujrathis and non gujrathis…….This is the motive of the song……

कुछ भी नया नहीं . ऐ आर रहमान की धुनें हाई पीच पर ही रहती हैं, धुन में कोई नयापन नहीं है .आधुनिक वाद्य यंत्रों के साथ साथ गुजरात के स्थानीय वाद्य यंत्रों का भीप्रयोग होता तो अच्छा होता .ऐ आर रहमान के लिए अच्छा मौका था कुछ नया करने का जिसको उन्होंने खो दिया .

Beautiful patriotic song.. but the wordings are not clear enough or loud enough, Singer should have been someone like Mohamed Rafi or Mukesh level.
