After posters at public places in Ahmedabad, on Saturday, several advertisements were seen in Gujarati newspapers in favor of Gujarat’s cops arrested in connection with Sohrabuddin encounter case.

The advertisements are published by little known ‘Jan Adhikar Samiti, Vadodara’ in all major Gujarati dailies.

An advertisement published in largest circulated Gujarati daily Gujarat Samachar says”There were 712 encounters in the country in last seven years, but in Gujarat there were only 17. Then why the investigations are happening only in Gujarat? People want answer.”

An advertisement in Divya Bhaskar daily has 26/11 Mumbai attack terrorist Kasab’s photo with captions: “Do they want to create more Kasab in Gujarat? Do they want to cut police’s hands? Wake up Gujarat. Know Sohrabuddin.

The other captions in all advertisements with a photo of AK-47 say that terrorist Sohrabuddin was Pakistan based Dawood Ibrahim’s man, same Dawood who conspired terror attacks on India. Sohrabuddin was sent in prison for 10 years in year 2000. As many as 24 AK-47, 27 hand graneds and 5,250 rounds were found at terrorist Sohrabuddin’s house. “Then why so much feelings, loud voices and love for Sohrabuddin?”

An advertisement published in Kutch Mitra daily, the voice of Kutch and Phoolchhab daily, prominent in Saurashtra region of Gujarat say that “while brave police officers are in jail, the terrorists are enjoying now. Gujarat is being crushed in the dangerous game of vote bank.”

It should be mentioned that earlier in this week, the posters were seen in favor of Gujarat police, protesting actions on Gujarat cops in connection with encounter cases. Publisher’s name was not mentioned on the posters.
