Modi blesses 559 couples at Thakor community mass wedding

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Monday attended mass wedding ceremony in north Gujarat’s Sami-Varana where 559 couples of Thakor community tied the knot.
The Chief Minister blessed the newlywed couples and asked them each couple to plant at least one tree on the occasion of wedding.
Modi said the waters of river Narmada will paint this dry land of Patan district green.”If you are planing to sell your land, please don’t do that. Because water from Narmada will convert your land into gold.
Modi visited Thakor community’s supreme place of faith Shri Varana Devi Mandir to seek blessings.
The mass wedding function was organized by local BJP MLA Bhavsinhji Rathod. Thakor leaders from across the state including Ahmedabad’s Mayor Kanaji Thakor, MLA Shambhuji Thakor, MP Bharatsinhji Parmar etc were present at this function.
It should be mentioned here that on Saturday, Modi visited Saurashtra’s Jasdan to bless hundreds of newlywed couples of both Hindu and Muslim communities. Modi welcomed the idea of mass wedding and said such social endeavor could save money which could be better utilized for education of children in future.
